Google to Experiment New Email Subscription Ad Format

Google was recently reported to have said that it would do experimentation with the offerings of its Google Adwords. With this move, the leading search engine giant wants to rise above regular text ads with Google Email Subscription Ads, enabling companies to buy ads that does automatic filling in a “Subscribe to newsletter” slot with a provided searcher’s Google email address during a search.

Earlier this month, Emailblog drew attention to the ads that were running with automaker Honda, and it looked as if those Google Adwords offerings had spread out to results for Email marketing services Constant Contact & AWeber. Hitting a click on the “Privacy” button just adjacent to the subscription button allows you to learn that your email would be mailed to the advertiser if that’s not clear.

On being asked to give an explanation regarding after all what is this all about and what is on, a representative from Google came ahead and stated that we are, at present, doing a small testing of a new ad format that allows users to do easy and trouble-free registration or sign-in for email subscriptions or further free newsletters. This recently introduced ad format has a box within the ad that shows Google email address of a user (in case, he/she is logged in). If a user selects to hit click for ‘Subscribe to newsletter’ then the email address is directly mailed to the advertiser that is evidently divulged within the ad itself.

I doubt, once this new ad format is made official, there’ll be a large number of email marketing companies that will be making use of this service. However, this is also a fact that it’ll become a permanent feature that Google has not answered so far.
