According to the data, it has been seen that during & after the Christmas a lot of iPhones & Android phones got activated and surprisingly, most of the users have seen downloading Facebook's mobile app. iPhone & Android users have always had a neck for Facebook app and this time it has broken its past records as well.
According to AppData's app tracking service, Facebook iPhone app is enjoying 4.1 million monthly active users; however, about 1.7 million daily actives have been reported. But Android phone users have successfully beaten their iPhone counter parts and have gained 5.2 million MAU and about 2.2 million DAU. Previous years have shown gains in the hundreds of thousands or lower millions.
If experts are to be believed, the difference in download numbers between the two platforms (iPhone & Android) caused due to their operating systems. Android is gradually upgrading it OS and introducing better than the older versions, while iOS also surged a lot. This is a non-ending tug-of-war between the two and is always interesting to witness the battle.
