Client Brief

Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria approached us with an existing website built on Joomla and requested modifications to improve its overall functionality and user experience. The website belonged to VFBV, an organization that represents CFA Volunteers and works towards their welfare and efficiency. As the client wanted to make the site more organized and user-friendly, they needed technical adjustments and refinements to enhance its overall performance. Since the website serves as a communication platform for volunteers and the community, it was important to improve its accessibility and structure. The focus was on making necessary changes without disturbing the site’s core framework. The client expected our team to update specific modules, improve speed, and streamline content presentation for better engagement.

Our Endeavor

VFBV stands as the voice of CFA Volunteers, formed under Victorian law through the Country Fire Authority Act, to represent volunteers in all matters related to their welfare and effectiveness. Given that Victoria is one of the most fire-prone regions, the organization holds significant importance in promoting volunteerism and community safety. Our team carefully studied the existing website to understand its structure, functionalities, and areas that required enhancement.

We began by modifying the search module to make it more accurate and user-friendly. This improvement helped users find relevant content quickly and easily, which was one of the key requirements from the client. We also reviewed and adjusted the image alignment across the website to maintain visual balance and improve readability, ensuring that every section appeared organized and easy to navigate.

Another major part of our work involved optimizing the website’s loading speed. We examined multiple technical aspects that affected start-up time and implemented solutions to make the site open faster, giving users a smoother browsing experience. In addition to these updates, we worked on the Joomla K2 component to make it easier for the admin to attach files and manage content. This modification simplified content handling for the client, allowing them to upload and update files without any complications.
