Client Brief
The client approached us with his existing ecommerce site and wanted us to develop and implement some modules, features and functionalities for it.
Our Endeavor
Jackeez.com is an online food marketplace dealing in a number of food items. Magento is the core the technology used in devising the website. We have integrated a third party multi-vendor extension and customized it to allow vendors to manage products, orders and inventory from the frontend itself. Further, we also have upgraded the payment gateway with PayPal adaptive payment system enabling automated payout to the vendors after deducting a predefined percentage as commission.
Further, the client wanted us to make few enhancements in the Magento based online market place as listed below:
- Enhancement of website's vendor & customer interface.
- Development of feature for effective management of shipping & price for vendors.
- Create a separate admin for vendor with restricted administrator features.
- Integrated a third party multi-vendor extension and customized the same for allowing vendors to manage products, orders and inventory from the frontend itself.
- Upgraded the payment gateway with PayPal adaptive payment system for enabling automated payout to the vendors after deducting a predefined percentage as commission.
Our developers made various customizations in the default functionality provided by Unirgy Dropship extension. We have used jQuery and Prototype js to enhance vendor experience while they add new products to their stores. Our team used PHP,Magento, jQuery, Javascript, MYSQL technologies for making the enhancements.
Further the client wanted enhancement of the vendor & customer interface of the website. He also required integration of stamps.com shipping label with Unirgy extension to enable printing shipping labels for shipment purpose.
During this phase of the project, our team focused on optimization & fine tuning of the Magento installation to enable serving customers faster & more efficiently. To ensure faster rendering on browser, we re-structured the store pages. Further, in order to decrease the page loading time significantly, our team developed a new caching system for Magento.
The client further approached us to make some enhancements to his online food marketplace. We have developed custom payment links as if some client cant pay proper amount then they can charge that client by sending an email along with a payment link. We also added local shops within some specific miles so that customer can find local shops around them.
Furthermore, we added shipping discount so that customer can get discount on shipping prices. We have worked on lot of new customizations along with some modifications. For completing the project, we used Magento platform where PHP works as server side technology and JS,CSS,JQUERY,PROTOTYPE etc., work as client side technology. Overall, following tasks were done in this phase of project -
- Modification on front-end vendor page
- Modification on vendor product listing page
- New development of Local shop
- Modification of gift card
- Integrating Shipping discount
- Adding reset shipping labels and custom payment links
We further added a new quick view feature on product list page. So that customer don't have to open each product page. Customer can add the product to cart from list page itself by using the Ajax cart feature. We have also worked on the cart page to make it faster for better customer experience.
