Development of a Zend Powered Job Listing
Community Website
Client Brief
The Client approached us with a requirement of developing a website, a combination of classified site, social networking site, real estate listing site and job listing site.
Our Endeavor
We have created the website in Zend framework to keep it more versatile and robust. Further Zend also provides a repository of high quality components that are actively supported. We suggested the client to add some new features which may help to distinct the website form similar competitors. Features - Like any other business listing website, admin can create business categories and store-owners can add their business, which will be approved by the admin before they can get published. Store-owners can register themselves to add/edit their store details. And a general user can search and find the relevant store using advanced search functionality. This search can filter stores, as per the products/services, locations etc. To make this website a little more user-friendly, we've segregated the listing options in three major divisions: "Commerce", "Community" and "Living". Commerce - Store-owners can list their business to buy or sell any product/services. Under the "Commerce" head people can list their businesses falling under the following categories - Antiques & Collectibles, Baby Stuff, Kids & Toys, Cars & Transportation, Clothes & Accessories, Computers, Phones & Electronics, Household, Home & Garden, Media, Games & Multimedia, Auto, Home, Medical, Outdoors, Parties & Entertainment, Pets etc. Community - There are categories available helping the users to build local communities. They can even list business events here. This header lists the following categories: Activity Partners, Discussions, Groups, Local News, Local Politics, Meet-Ups, Organized Events, Local Business Advertising, Local Business Events, Special Deals Living - Users offering apartments and jobs can list the detail of the property or the job description. Google Map - We have integrated bidirectional Google Map in the site.
If any visitor search or filter the listing criteria depending upon the geographical areas, the map will show the location of the business too. The map criteria will get modified, in case the user does some movement on the map. The website can track the IP address of the user and can load the map accordingly. It helps the users to see the local listings automatically. Admin Panel Category management, registration of users, listing management CRUD (Create, read, update and delete), CMS management, points management etc. are the list of functionalities which admin can manage from his/her end. VBU/anonymous registration with options setup specific to them In here, the website lets users to register under any of predetermined categories. Afterwards, as per their registration type users can be categorized to perform accordingly on application of specific features. Map markers - We have marked the listings on the map as per the address stated on them. This needs regular modification, so that the admin can update the same from his/her end, whenever the need arises. Personal Messaging System Users can communicate with the listing provider by using the personal messaging and sharing of the listed information on various social networking websites. The users also have the option of commenting against the listing. There is also a strong search/filter criterion available at the website to filter the listings.
