The client approached us with a requirement of developing a social networking site using Social Engine. The site was meant for users to offer them a forum to share their views on politics, religion, economic and society.
Inquext.com as the site is called is a Social Media Networking site which deals solely on Political, Religious, Economic and Social issues. Users have the ability to sign in normally or to create a page or group, from the sign in page. One of the main fixtures of the site is the ability of users to create a page as Religious, Political, and Economic Leader and have followers. As leaders they have their various functions. There is also default Leaders group, users have the ability to create a sub group in the default group.
If a user creates a page as political, religious or economic leader, the user must display his ideology, philosophy or belief. As a leader the users have the ability to invite followers via email or SMS from their working area. The leader also has the ability to write on the pages or work area of their followers and send messages to followers via SMS and e-mail. They can send urgent messages to followers even if they are not online.
Followers can sign-in under multiple leaders and groups, have ability to participate in forums discussion, the follower have the ability to send private inbox message to leaders, also have the ability to invite people via SMS and email, the follower can post picture and video on the work area.
The site will have simple outlay with blend of various shades of blue clear and precise lines. The site includes some of these functions:
- Membership function (Sign in function).
- Text and chat function.
- Audio and video chat function.
- The ability to send SMS or text messages and email.
- There are Forums, Home, Groups and social media plug-in.
- It runs on iPhone, iPad, Andriod, and BlackBerry.
- Ability to integrate with social media links, Twitters, Google+ etc.
- Ability to create a sub-group in a default group.
Design:
The home page and inside page template of the website have been designed using blue & orange color as client wants us to use in the design. After finalizing the designs we have make the HTML conversion (div based) and forwarded the same to developer for further development process. We have also designed the website logo (text based).
Development:
We have used the Social Engine to build the website and website mobile version. We have customized the wire frames provided by the client and have integrated custom design and created new theme in Social Engine. We have created modules to implement custom functionality requested by the client and also customized core module of Social Engine. We have done some customized modifications for mobile version of website like uploading profile image form mobile device, uploading images in status update.
