PHP eCommerce Website for Retail 'MaryShop' - Online Catholic Gift Store

Client Brief

MaryShop.com is an online Catholic Supply Store selling religious jewelry, rosaries, crosses, saint statues, Catholic gifts and books etc. The website features thousands of high-quality religious products (not just Marian items) at below-retail prices. It is built in X-Cart open source CMS. The client wanted us to do some optimization on the X-Cart CMS source code to increase the overall performance of website.

Our Endeavor

• We have applied leverage browser caching on the website.
• Usage of HTML, CSS and JavaScript has been decreased to increase the load time.
• Enabled Gzip compression on the server to increase the website performance of website.
• Enabled the auto cached clearance on X-Cart cached templates for the website
• Set the expiration date of images/CSS/JavaScript files to decrease the loading time of website. We have also done quality speed testing with various online optimization tools and increased the speed of website to the threshold level.
