The project involved developing a JavaScript based interactive e-book reader. The e-book reader allows users to view book content, view interactive section with images and videos associated with each chapter and corresponding word of the page. We have developed the e-book reader using JavaScript libraries to make the tool browser and platform independent. In addition to that we have also enabaled the reader to open files of any format. Our developers also have integrated multiple third party APIs like Flickr, YouTube for fetching images and videos to be displayed on the interactive gallery section.

 

Our developers also have worked on multiple aspects of the project, such as typical typographical enhancements, creation of multiple column displays for the ebook that can be dynamically adjusted by users, creation of single page cover image display, addition of pages, etc. We have also implemented multimedia feature in the ebook reader allowing users to view images and videos related to the chapters.

 

 

Furthermore, the client wanted us to implement some other features for enhancing the user experience that required making enhancements in a JavaScript based e-book reader. Working on the project, we have worked on implementation of multiple features such as option for users to use the reader to view files on their local computer by dragging and dropping into the reader, integration of third party APIs for fetching images and videos that are to be displayed in the chapters.

Additionally, we performed some typographical enhancements as well. Our team used Javascript, jQuery, HTML, CSS technologies for making these enhancements. We also customized the reader so that it can fit on mobile and tablet browsers. In addition, we implemented a functionality to allow the users make adjustments in the number of columns on the reader that gets dynamically updated as per the reading preference of the user.
