Development of A WordPress Powered Website to Publish Rich Media eBooks

Client Brief

Client approached us with the requirement of the development of a WordPress plugin that allows users to create eBook for PubML. Additionally, he wanted to offer a complete package for an author where they are able to provide multiple templates and layouts in order to create, publish and host their book as a web page.

Our Endeavor

PubML books are tied to multiple custom category like Chapters/Sections, Photo Notes, Media library. A feature for exporting the created eBook for offline readers is available in two formats - Bookname.zip and Bookname.epub.

Our developers have used the WordPress, PHP, jQuery, AJAX, CSS MySQL technologies for this project. We added following features in the PubML plugin to enhance the book styling and controls:

- Setup a plugin with all basic pre-requisite.

- Create multiple custom categories for PubML books.

- Settings powerful user panel that allows users to validate

installation by adding their license key.

- A list of books created by the user, each book displays a cover

thumbnail, sample Sections/Photo notes/Media Group during new book setup.

- Allow the users to create eBook in two formats- as ePub and as PubML.

Additionally, we have made some enhancement in the plugin scripts to make it more compatible with the latest version of parent technologies used. We have made the plugin editors include the custom formatting to override the default WordPress editors. We have then put the latest plugin files in order to make the customers aware that there is a new release of the plugin.
