Overview

LMI (Leadership Management International) is a US-based leadership development company with more than five decades in the business of helping individuals and organizations grow — personally, professionally, and as teams. Their training programs lean heavily on structured audio coursework, which meant the app supporting that material had to be dependable, not just functional.

The existing version of the app ran on Ionic and was starting to show its age. LMI wanted it rebuilt on React Native, with room to add the features their original build couldn't easily support — chief among them, offline playback.

The Challenge

The core ask was straightforward on paper — rebuild an app on a different framework — but a few specifics made it more involved than a simple port:
