Native Android & iOS App for Wound Care Management in USA
Reach : USA
Time Frame : 3 Months
Deliverables:
A wound care consultant based in the USA needed a proper mobile tool for practitioners working with patients day to day. Managing wound reports on paper or through generic tools was slow and left too much room for things to get missed. The brief was clear — build native apps for both Android and iOS that would let wound care practitioners create patient records, track wound details, and pull reports without friction. We built SAGE, a pair of native mobile apps that put everything a wound care practitioner needs into one clean, easy to use place.

Wound care practitioners spend their days moving between patients. Every visit means checking a wound, noting changes, recording details, and keeping that information organised for future reference. When that process is slow or messy, patient care suffers. What these practitioners needed was not a complicated system — just something reliable that kept everything in one place and worked the way they actually worked.
SAGE was built to be exactly that. A straightforward app that handled the record-keeping side of things cleanly, so the practitioner could stay focused on the patient rather than the paperwork.
SAGE is what wound care practitioners now open when they are with a patient instead of reaching for a notepad or switching between different tools. It handles everything from creating a new wound record to tracking how a wound changes over time, right through to generating a finished PDF report.
For this to work properly in a medical setting, a few things had to be true. The information had to be easy to enter quickly during an actual patient visit. The records had to be easy to search and pull up later. And the whole app had to feel straightforward enough that practitioners with varying levels of comfort with technology could pick it up without any training.
Medical apps carry a different kind of responsibility compared to most other apps. The information inside them matters, and any confusion or difficulty in using them has a direct impact on the quality of care a patient receives. A few specific problems had to be worked through carefully:
The build was handled carefully in stages, with the clinical use case kept front and centre throughout.
Before designing any screens, we looked at how wound care practitioners actually moved through a patient visit and built the app flow to match that rather than forcing a structure that looked logical on paper but felt awkward in use.
Working on a medical app meant being more careful than usual about how information was structured and presented. A lot of the early work went into understanding the actual workflow of a wound care visit, because building something that felt natural in that context required knowing what practitioners were doing step by step, not just what data they needed to store.
Keeping the build in clear stages meant any issues that came up were caught and sorted before they affected the parts that came after. Both platforms were given equal care throughout, and nothing was signed off until it had been properly tested in a realistic use scenario.
Want a medical app that works the way your practitioners actually work?
We build healthcare apps around real clinical workflows, not just feature lists, tested properly and built to handle sensitive information with the care it deserves.
